Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an AnPath account or using the service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you are using AnPath on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms for it.

2. What AnPath is

AnPath is a private organizational tool. It lets you record documents, accounts, contacts, deadlines, and wishes; invite family members or an executor with defined permissions; follow checklists and guidance for common after-a-death tasks; and read general reference material about state processes and institutions.

3. What AnPath is not

AnPath is not a law firm, an accounting firm, a financial adviser, an insurance agency, or a fiduciary, and nothing in the service is legal, tax, financial, or medical advice. Content is provided for informational purposes only. State laws, institutional procedures, deadlines, and thresholds change, and they vary by jurisdiction and by individual circumstance. Consult a licensed attorney, accountant, or adviser in your state before acting on anything you read here.

AnPath does not draft, execute, witness, notarize, or file legal documents on your behalf, and using AnPath does not create an attorney-client relationship. Documents and templates offered through the service are starting points, not completed instruments.

Where AnPath links to or describes third-party professionals, directories, or service providers, we are not endorsing, vetting, supervising, or guaranteeing them, and we are not a party to any relationship you form with them.

4. Your account

• You must be at least 18 years old and provide accurate registration information.
• You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity that occurs under your account.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter. AnPath does not verify your records against banks, insurers, courts, or registries.
• Tell us promptly at support@anpath.app if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

5. Collaborators and shared access

When you invite someone to your estate, you choose their role and therefore what they can see and do. You are responsible for who you invite and for removing access when it is no longer appropriate. Information you share with a collaborator has been shared with a real person, and we cannot retract what they have already seen.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the service unlawfully, or to store or transmit unlawful content;
• Attempt to access another user's estate or account, or probe, scan, or interfere with the security of the service;
• Upload malware, or attempt to disrupt or overload the service;
• Scrape, resell, or redistribute the service's content or data at scale;
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your authority over an estate.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you put into AnPath. You grant us only the limited permission needed to host, process, back up, and display your content in order to operate the service for you and the collaborators you authorize. You are responsible for having the right to store information about other people that you enter.

8. Subscriptions and billing

• AnPath offers a free tier and paid tiers. Current features and prices are shown on the pricing page.
• Paid subscriptions renew automatically for the billing period you selected until you cancel.
• You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and you keep paid access until then.
• Unless required by law or stated otherwise at purchase, payments are non-refundable for periods already begun.
• We may change prices with notice before the change applies to your next renewal.
• Payments are handled by a third-party payment processor. We do not store your full card details.
• Fees are exclusive of taxes unless stated otherwise.

9. Third-party services

The service links to and depends on third parties — payment processing, email delivery, AI providers, referral directories, and government websites. Their availability and accuracy are outside our control, and your use of them is governed by their terms.

10. Availability

We work to keep AnPath available and correct, but the service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the reference content is complete or current.

Keep independent copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. AnPath is an organizational layer, not a substitute for originals of wills, deeds, titles, and policies.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AnPath and its officers, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or missed deadlines arising out of or relating to your use of the service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred US dollars. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold AnPath harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of another person's rights.

13. Termination

You may deactivate or delete your account at any time in Settings → Account Management. Deletion is irreversible; see the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, that we are legally required to act on, or that poses a security risk — with notice where practical. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including sections 7, 10, 11, and 12, do so.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify account holders by email. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
